More than 20 years ago, Dagfinn Nyborg, came up with the idea for a sled that his dog, Curt, could pull.
What started as a hobby soon turned into the Combi-Sled, a trailer that had many of the same features you find in the Nordic Cab today.
Little by little the original trailer was improved, new ideas came steadily, and eventually the Combi-Sled became the Rocky2.

The pictures here, taken 20 years ago, show Nordic Cab's founder, Dagfinn Nyborg and daughter, Oda - the first passenger.
Rocky2 was our brand name for many years. However, when we developed the completely new version in 2006, we decided to change the name to Nordic Cab.
Our plan was to begin selling the Nordic Cab world wide, and we received feedback from our friends in the USA that Rocky2 might too easily be confused with some sort of boxing gear:) |
Earlier versions of the Rocky2 have been, and are still being, used and enjoyed by many people in Norway and Sweden.
We have received many letters from customers over the years, with compliments and constructive feedback.
Thanks to their help, and our drive to make the best possible bike trailer, we never stopped making improvements.

We decided to take the plunge and hire one of Norway's top design firms, led by Ulf Tolfsen.
We set ourselves an ambitious goal - make the best bike trailer, ski sled, dog trailer, and jogger - no compromises. Every detail was to be optimized, and designed to harmonize with the other parts, so that the sum of parts would create a whole product above anything in its class.
We continue to listen carefully to our customers' feedback and are committed to making improvements based on their input.
After all, the best suggestions generally come from those who use the Nordic Cab every day.
Nordic Cab originated in Hamar, a town 100 miles north of Oslo on Norway's largest lake, just minutes from the best cross-country skiing in the world.
The area is truly ideal for field testing this unique mulit-trailer. (The Mjosa bike trail runs 50 km along the lake and Sjusjøen cross country ski center boasts 200 km of groomed Nordic ski trails.) |
 |
In winter we use the Nordic Ski Sled to haul supplies into the cabin, while in summer we cycle to work with the bike trailer and load up with groceries on the way home.
Nordic Cab, is the newest, and completely re-designed version, of a concept that began many years ago. The result is a first class trailer and sled with unlimited possibilities.
Nordic Cab is a trailer anyone can use to enjoy the beautiful outdoors - any time of year. |
