Great Product, Great Engineering!

I wanted to share how pleased we have been with our new Nordic Cab.  We bought ours with all of the options from a local bike shop in West Newton, MA, and took it out skiing the same day.  Every time we take it out, we learn about another new "feature" that we hadn't discovered.  As an aerospace engineer myself, I have been continually impressed with the amount of thought that went into the design of the Nordic Cab.   The kids seem to love riding in it - and we look to getting a lot of use out of it as they grow.  We're looking forward to pulling our twins behind our bikes this summer, and will finish out our ski season in style (with twins in tow!).

We are very happy with our Nordic Cab!

Here is a picture from last summer's camping trip . A little tip for other parents with small children: the Nordic Cab is perfect as a playpen or crib for your toddler.

And it's perfect for the beach! Our little guy liked playing inside the trailer where he got a break from the sun - just like a tent on wheels!

Excellent trailer and excellent service!

We bought our Nordic Cab early in 2009, and since then we take it wherever we go. We have used it as a bike trailer, as a dog trailer, as a stroller and last but not least as a ski sled - pulled sometimes by us and sometimes by our dog.

Our dog Oliver and four year old daughter Julie are fast friends and both love the Nordic Cab. Oliver enjoys pulling Julie whether it's on snow or on pavement.

Now we have another one on the way, so we're glad we have a trailer / sled for two kids. I must add that the service at Nordic Cab is excellent - we highly recommend this amazing bicycle trailer.

Better than a Kinder Egg!

Nordic Cab - better than a Kinder Egg; it's three things in one, a bike trailer, a ski sled and a jogger - on top of being an exceptional stroller and cargo trailer. And it's for two children, not just one! We have used our Nordic Cab quite a bit on skis and behind the bike. As a bicycle trailer it's fantastic and as a ski sled, we like it even better than the traditional pulks. We can't rave enough about this trailer and highly recommend the Nordic Cab to other families.

To sum it up, you can't go wrong buying the Nordic Cab All Season Sport bike trailer.

We're so happy with our Nordic Cab!

We are so glad we decided to invest in a Nordic Cab All Season Sport!

Our little boy just loves riding in his "cab". We've used it as a sled, a bike trailer and a jogger. We use it all the time for long ski trips and bike rides in the woods. But our little guy also likes to sleep in the Nordic Cab out on the deck. He has lots of room and is protected from insects with the mosquito netting pulled down.
The cab is very easy to pull and so quick to convert to a stroller when we need to stop in at the grocery store. There's enough storage space behind the seat to fit two or three shopping bags easily. And you hardly even notice the extra weight!

All in all we are extremely satisfied with our Nordic Cab! Thank you for a great product and great service:)

Biker Mom

I have a Nordic Cab trailer which I have been able to use for strolling downtown, and jogging on local trails.  With her being quite young, and the icy weather conditions, I was nervous to take her on her first bike ride. I decided to take the plunge one beautiful, sunny morning before work.  I took the safest route between neighborhoods and the Route 66 bike path, and made it to work with my heart pounding, and Neva soundly asleep in her fleece lined sleeping bag and winter hat.

Riding with a child can be nerve-racking when dealing with traffic, but multiple features really put me at ease when traveling with her.  I like having a bright colored trailer and flag which is easily visible.  I think my favorite set up is using the plush Croozer seat supporter which supports your baby’s neck, in conjunction with the Nordic Cab sleeping Bag.  Not only is she comfortably reclined, but her head is supported, and she is cozy in the cold weather conditions.  Mom might suffer, but she’s warm and out like a light pretty quickly!

Summertime has another set of features to think about, like venting, and air flow.  Front to back airflow is great, but adding lateral airflow is superb, and makes a big difference when the temperatures exceed 80 degrees Fahrenheit.  An adjustable sunshade is also helpful at any time of day.  When I bike to work at 8am, the sun shade comes all the way down, and her side windows are covered so she doesn’t get sun in her eyes.  At noon, I can retract the sunshade so she can have a full view of the scenery. megan-showing-nordic-cab-spaceThe large cargo space is also a plus for picking up groceries after work.

I feel secure in the safety of my trailer, of my route, and of my skill.  Trailers do add another element to biking, and experience with them needs to be taken into consideration before riding with a child.  I even had to switch from my road bike to my touring bike because the gearing on my roadie was too difficult to pull 50 pounds of trailer, child and work gear around the hilly terrain of Flagstaff!  I love biking Neva to work now.  She seems very happy and ready for work after a 30 minute ride, and a short nap.

I love our Nordic Cab!

I bought it in the US online and LOVE it!  We go everywhere in it -- to the amusement park, to the county fair, to school.  We use it as a bike trailer and as a stroller to walk the dog.  Lovely!  Everywhere we've been, people ask about it and I tell them to buy it.  We bought a cheap one on craigslist initially (Bell) and it wore through the bottom and sides posing a danger to my daughter.  Before I bought another one, I did extensive research and your hard bottom trailer with reinforced sides were perfect!

Greetings from one family who loves your product and the service!

Just before Christmas we bought an All Season Sport Nordic Cab and we are so pleased with our choice! Our Nordic Cab faced its first big test when we took it out in a snow storm to get to the community Christmas concert. That was as a jogger and it passed with flying colors.

We use our cab  for just about everything - from grocery shopping, to forest walks to ski weekends in the mountains. As a jogger it has no problem going through deep snow, and even over rocks and fallen trees.

As a ski pulk it's just excellent! Our little 1.5 year old boy sits up nice and high, is warm and cozy in the cab and usually falls asleep within minutes. He'll sleep as long as 2 hours in the cab. Check out the attached photos to see one happy little boy.

One saturday we forgot the harness and had to improvise. We found out that we could attach the Nordic Cab to a regular back pack. It worked well enough, so we didn't have to go home disappointed.

Greetings from all of us!

Out for a ski with Max and Theo

Every time we're out for a ski people stop us and ask where we got our ski pulk.

Some comments...

Assembly-

I found out pretty quick when I started assembling the Nordic Cab that all the parts were sorted in relation to their function. Putting the cab together went well and all parts appeared to be solid good quality. I had to read the user manual a couple of times as it wasn't always crystal clear. Over all, assembly went well and Max and Theo loved the Nordic Cab from the start.

First trip out-

We went for our first ski the day after we got our Nordic Cab. It had snowed the night before, so I was able to hook up the cab and ski right from our front door out to the tracks. To get to the trail I had to cross over several obstacles including snow banks - the cab proved to be very stable and didn't come near tipping. When we came to the groomed track I was amazed how easy it was to pull. The harness is very comfortable.

A longer ski-

We set out for a long ski on Wednesday - the plan was for the boys to sleep while we got some exercise. We were lucky with the weather as the forecast was for blue skies all day. We adjusted the seat to lie flat like a bed and the boys snuggled into their sleeping bag with a big smile. My first surprise was how quickly they fell asleep, and it was a little more bumpy than I thought it was going to be. It ended up I had to wake the boys when we arrived - they were still sleeping!

The storage space under the seat is perfect for a picnic lunch. We found a sheltered spot and enjoyed a well earned break. We saw several other traditional ski pulks along the way, but we thought - what are they going to do when summer comes?

perfect for two (big) little boys

We spent several months looking for the perfect double stroller and nothing felt right until we saw the Nordic Cab!  Great size, great quality, great price.  The seats are so cushy!  Lots of storage, nice options with shading and weather protection.  We have LOVED it.  We have a three-year-old boy (size 5T) and a 5-month-old baby (size 2T), so we were concerned that they would be squished.  But they fit perfectly with room to grow.  And when they do grow out of it, we can still use it as a storage trailer for our bike outings.  Great investment for an active family.

My only wish would be to have the swivel wheel compatible with a hand break.  I like to be able to manuever the stroller, but I live in a neighborhood with hills, so I appreciate a hand break.

We looked at Chariot Carriers and found this one online.  We were a little worried it would not be the same quality as the price is lower.  I talked to one of the service agents and they actually had taken it out with thier kids, and loved it.   We are so psyched about it that I wanted to let you know how pleased we are with it.  What a great value.  Leave it to Norway to come up with a product like this.  Hands down the best kids product we have found.

A good helper - Rocky 2 (the previous edition of Nordic Cab)

In my younger years I was pretty active and loved sports and the outdoors. At age fourteen, I lost my sight after an accident. Soon after, I got my first guide dog, Kali, who became a treasured companion. Kali showed me the way when I needed help going to the store, visiting friends or walking in the trails around Voss. Being blind, it was important to me to regain my independence. With the help of my guide dog, I've been able to enjoy many fantastic outings and experiences both in Norway and abroad.

By 2004 I was married, to Tanya, with two small boys: three and a half year old Olav, and one and a half year old Bendik. The challenge was then how to continue going for walks on my own while ensuring the kids were safe. Normally it's my guide dog who sees obstacles and guides me around them, so I feel secure walking on my own. But with one hand on the dog harness, it was difficult to steer a baby buggy as well. Hills and gravel roads were out of the question.

I found the answer in the Rocky 2. Here was a multi purpose trailer, with room for two children, that could be pulled by dog or man, on bicycle or skis. This trailer had such a clever design -excellent hand grip, interchangeable pullers, comfortable harness, adjustable wheel position for optimizing load bearing...

Dream cab for two small boys!

With two small boys, 5 and 19 months old, and with no car, it's not always easy to get out and about.

A google search led us to many very satisfied customer comments, and then, to the Nordic Cab home page itself. We had already talked about getting a ski sled (pulk) for winter and a bike trailer next year. It wasn't long before we were sold on this combination trailer. We are now the proud owners of a Nordic Cab All Season Sport Combo.

So came the big test: How would the two small boys like the new trailer? It didn't take long to see that Nordic Cab is a dream for kids. They were all smiles and laughter from the beginning. The jogger is so easy to push - especially in the slushy mess that's already covering the roads. It's finally fun to go out for a walk again:) We can't wait to try out the pulk in winter and the bike trailer next summer!

Sibling Trailer

We've had our Nordic Cab for four months now and are so happy with it. We use the jogger almost every day to and from the day care. Big brother (who is almost two) just loves it.

Now he has a new baby brother to share the ride with. We've gone on many trail walks where a regular stroller would never have managed. So, with two small children under two, the Nordic Cab has certainly expanded our range of motion. It's extremely practical to have a cab that fits through the door - that way it's always ready in the hallway when we set out for a walk.

We are so excited for winter when we can try out the Nordic Cab ski sled. Then, when spring comes, baby brother will be old enough so we can use it as a bicycle trailer. Thanks so much for a great all-round product!

Nordic Cab on holiday in Denmark

We just finished a ten day holiday in Denmark with our Nordic Cab, and we are so happy with both the bike trailer and stroller.

We used our cab the whole time - for towing our twin two year olds around - and as a cargo cab for shopping trips. We cycled 150 km in all, and it was such a joy! We especially liked that you can adjust the wheel position for optimal load bearing. The swing-down stroller wheel worked great. What a clever and functional product!

Longer fishing trips...

The Nordic Hike Cab has allowed me to go for longer fishing trips without ruining my injured shoulder with a heavy back pack.

The Nordic Cab is a well thought out product for general outdoor use. It's suited to all kinds of people, from singles to families, both young and old. You can use the Nordic Cab all year round, for all kinds of activities, from fishing to hunting, to skiing and shopping outings.

Only lack of imagination and unaccessible terrain limit the possibilities. I recommend the Nordic Cab to anyone who wants to transport their kids or gear from A to B. You can even use the Nordic Cab instead of a car for big shopping trips at the grocery store. You get a work out AND save the cost of gas and traffic headache.

Nordic Cab is also great for taking on holiday. It takes up very little space in the trunk when folded down.

Denmark trip

We had a wonderful holiday with our Nordic Cab!

We left the regular stroller home and set off on a trip to Denmarkt this summer. We had both the bike trailer and jogger, so we could use our cab with and without the bikes.

We saved quite a bit of space in the car, and the Nordic Cab turned out to be very popular with the other families traveling with us as well. The kids just loved riding in the trailer, both at full speed behind the bike, and while strolling along the streets.

It's so easy to push or tow, and we highly recommend it to others. It's very easy to switch from one mode to another. We are excited to try it out in the snow.

Very clever and simple combination trailer!

Nordic Cab and the "Lazy-Boy Nightmare"

On the road to Rendalen with the Nordic Hike Cab.

A few days after I retired, I discovered I was gonna need some kind of potion to fend off the "Lazy-Boy Nightmare" - fear of never getting up out of the comfy chair again. So, I went out and bought myself a Nordic Cab. and started planning my trip.

The first leg was on foot with the hike cab, from Hamar to Elvål - a distance of about 150 km - which I managed in five days. The cab was loaded with 55 kg of gear - everything from food to tent pegs.

The Nordic Cab worked like a charm. Easy to pull and a pleasure to use. On the return journey, I simply pakked the pull and harness in the cab and took boarded the train home - pain free!

A bit of advice for anyone who might be thinking of doing something similar:

-  Pack only the absolute necessities. Even though the Nordic Cab is easy to pull, it can be tough going on steep hills.

- Take it easy with shorter trips the first few days. Increase your distances gradually as your body gets used to walking all day. S

- Try inviting some others to join you - it can quickly get lonesome:)

With best hiking wishes,

Willy O. Christiansen

Nordic Cab - hard tested out on Hardangervidda (Norway's biggest plateau)

Hi again!

Well I got my Nordic Cab just in time for a real mountain test. We loaded it up with tools, gas, a car battery, food, drink and gear for two adults and three kids. A total load of 85 kg - well over the recommended load for a Nordic Cab. However, this was what was required to repair a commercial fish boat up in Hardangervidda national park - a park where NO motor transport is allowed until July 25th.

Our Nordic Cab worked without a single problem! It was easy and comfortable to pull, in spite of the excess weight. Even my eight year old daughter pulled it on the flat.

With such a heavy load, I recommend using hiking poles.

The trip was 40 km in all, not a huge distance, but a good test of what the cab would handle, especially if you consider that the trail looked like a rock slide a good stretch of the way.

When we came back to the car, after three days, the only damage to the cab was a flat tire - I guess I could take responsibility for that - given the heavy load.

I should have liked to have a break, 85 kg pushes pretty hard on the down hill.

All in all, the Nordic Cab made it possible to haul over 100 kg (together with my back pack) without too much strain.

Thanks again for the great service!

Best regards, Stein H Flaata

Egon and our Nordic Cab

We finally got our new Nordic Cab. It didn't take long to put it together and go out for our first walk.

Egon (our dog), who is a three year old Berner Sennen, was so proud when he pulled the cab, and our daughter was happy as a clam to sit and be pulled. Now we're out everyday for a walk with our Nordic Cab. It's so much fun!

We get more than a few passers by asking about our unique vehicle, and that makes us even more proud.

HAPPY EASTER!

Kind regards Marianne Beckstrøm, a very proud Nordic Cab owner!

Nordic Cab All Season Combo

Our daughter, Aurora, is almost five months old in the picture. Since she's too little to sit upright, we pad the seat with blankets and pillows to make the cab cozy for her. She's all bundled up in a sheep skin with the safety belt done over top. We are, of course, careful not to go too fast or over rough terrain with her but we've found some beautiful trails we can take her out on.

During the first two outings here in Tromsø we must have run into 20 or 30 curious people who asked about this unusual pulk.

Mathis must work for his food

(Nordic Cab note - in summer these customers live on an island where no cars are allowed.)

Hi! Now Easter is over for the year, and now it looks like summer is here. But maybe we're just being fooled???? Hope all is well with you, we are doing fine.

I'm sending some photos we took (Saturday, 04.14.07) of Mathis in front of the Nordic Dog Cab. We were told to go gently at first, so he wouldn't be scared of the cab, but he didn't seem the least bit scared.

We put the harness on, and he stood for a while like that (he is used to a life vest after all.) The pictures were taken when he first had the harness on, so his tail is down a little. I'm sure it was a bit scary for him at first, but he's used to us with the wheel barrow, so the noise wasn't anything unusual.

Så Harald says: Let's try going to the shops. A little treat in the pocket was all we needed to tempt Mathis along. He wasn't in the least afraid - he didn't look behind him once! He marched steady onward with his tail straight up (that's when I should've had the camera).

We bought a few things at the grocery store and then had to go down to the recycling station, so there was more than one outing that day.

Today we had a few more bags of garbage from the neighbors, so the cab was a bit heavier. It was little harder to get him started, but with the treat in the pocket, Mathis followed along and almost ran once we'd unloaded the cab. Then I had to hold tight onto the leash to keep him from going too fast! (He knows where he lives!)

We are looking forward to using the Nordic Cab all summer. Now we don't have to use the wheel barrow for shopping trips any longer. (We do eat rather a lot during summer vacation:) But I think Mathis is rather proud of being the bread winner too!

Nordic Cab in Finnmark - North Norway

Hi!

We've now had a chance to test out our new pulk and thought we'd write you a note with some pictures we took last week. We took our new pulk out hunting in Finnmark.

We are generally very pleased with the Nordic Cab - it works well both in and out of the tracks. We've used it both for exercise and for bird hunting.

Our daughter is well protected from the elements in her cozy little "tent". We actually measured the temperature inside and outside the Nordic Cab and found it was several degrees warmer inside - an absolute bonus when you live in a place like Finnmark. We feel confident our child is warm enough, even on the colder days, so we get out of the house more often.

It's also a plus that the cab rests above the snow, so there's no direct contact with the cold ground as with a regular pulk. When you go off-track, out in loose snow, with uneven terrain, the skis move independently, so there's not so much jarring motion for the child.
