Dream cab for two small boys!
|
| |
With two small boys, 5 and 19 months old, and with no car, it's not always easy to get out and about.
A google search led us to many very satisfied customer comments, and then, to the Nordic Cab home page itself. We had already talked about getting a ski sled (pulk) for winter and a bike trailer next year. It wasn't long before we were sold on this combination trailer. We are now the proud owners of a Nordic Cab All Season Sport Combo.
So came the big test: How would the two small boys like the new trailer? It didn't take long to see that Nordic Cab is a dream for kids. They were all smiles and laughter from the beginning. The jogger is so easy to push - especially in the slushy mess that's already covering the roads. It's finally fun to go out for a walk again:) We can't wait to try out the pulk in winter and the bike trailer next summer!

Sibling Trailer
|
| |
We've had our Nordic Cab for four months now and are so happy with it. We use the jogger almost every day to and from the day care. Big brother (who is almost two) just loves it.
Now he has a new baby brother to share the ride with. We've gone on many trail walks where a regular stroller would never have managed. So, with two small children under two, the Nordic Cab has certainly expanded our range of motion. It's extremely practical to have a cab that fits through the door - that way it's always ready in the hallway when we set out for a walk.
We are so excited for winter when we can try out the Nordic Cab ski sled. Then, when spring comes, baby brother will be old enough so we can use it as a bicycle trailer. Thanks so much for a great all-round product!
(Nordic Cab Note: Weber baby seat sold in Europe only.)

Nordic Cab on holiday in Denmark
|
| |
We just finished a ten day holiday in Denmark with our Nordic Cab, and we are so happy with both the bike trailer and stroller.
We used our cab the whole time - for towing our twin two year olds around - and as a cargo cab for shopping trips. We cycled 150 km in all, and it was such a joy! We especially liked that you can adjust the wheel position for optimal load bearing. The swing-down stroller wheel worked great. What a clever and functional product!

Longer fishing trips...
|
| |
The Nordic Hike Cab has allowed me to go for longer fishing trips without ruining my injured shoulder with a heavy back pack.
The Nordic Cab is a well thought out product for general outdoor use. It's suited to all kinds of people, from singles to families, both young and old. You can use the Nordic Cab all year round, for all kinds of activities, from fishing to hunting, to skiing and shopping outings.
Only lack of imagination and unaccessible terrain limit the possibilities. I recommend the Nordic Cab to anyone who wants to transport their kids or gear from A to B. You can even use the Nordic Cab instead of a car for big shopping trips at the grocery store. You get a work out AND save the cost of gas and traffic headache.
Nordic Cab is also great for taking on holiday. It takes up very little space in the trunk when folded down.

Denmark trip
|
| |
We had a wonderful holiday with our Nordic Cab!
We left the regular stroller home and set off on a trip to Denmarkt this summer. We had both the bike trailer and jogger, so we could use our cab with and without the bikes.
We saved quite a bit of space in the car, and the Nordic Cab turned out to be very popular with the other families traveling with us as well. The kids just loved riding in the trailer, both at full speed behind the bike, and while strolling along the streets.
It's so easy to push or tow, and we highly recommend it to others. It's very easy to switch from one mode to another. We are excited to try it out in the snow.
Very clever and simple combination trailer!
Regards from Rune, Ingrid and Victor (one year).

Nordic Cab and the "Lazy-Boy Nightmare"
|
| |
On the road to Rendalen with the Nordic Hike Cab.
A few days after I retired, I discovered I was gonna need some kind of potion to fend off the "Lazy-Boy Nightmare" - fear of never getting up out of the comfy chair again. So, I went out and bought myself a Nordic Cab. and started planning my trip.
The first leg was on foot with the hike cab, from Hamar to Elvål - a distance of about 150 km - which I managed in five days. The cab was loaded with 55 kg of gear - everything from food to tent pegs.
The Nordic Cab worked like a charm. Easy to pull and a pleasure to use. On the return journey, I simply pakked the pull and harness in the cab and took boarded the train home - pain free!
A bit of advice for anyone who might be thinking of doing something similar:
- Pack only the absolute necessities. Even though the Nordic Cab is easy to pull, it can be tough going on steep hills.
- Take it easy with shorter trips the first few days. Increase your distances gradually as your body gets used to walking all day. S
- Try inviting some others to join you - it can quickly get lonesome:)
With best hiking wishes,
Willy O. Christiansen

Nordic Cab - hard tested out on Hardangervidda (Norway's biggest plateau)
|
| |
Hi again!
Well I got my Nordic Cab just in time for a real mountain test. We loaded it up with tools, gas, a car battery, food, drink and gear for two adults and three kids. A total load of 85 kg - well over the recommended load for a Nordic Cab. However, this was what was required to repair a commercial fish boat up in Hardangervidda national park - a park where NO motor transport is allowed until July 25th.
Our Nordic Cab worked without a single problem! It was easy and comfortable to pull, in spite of the excess weight. Even my eight year old daughter pulled it on the flat.
With such a heavy load, I recommend using hiking poles.
The trip was 40 km in all, not a huge distance, but a good test of what the cab would handle, especially if you consider that the trail looked like a rock slide a good stretch of the way.
When we came back to the car, after three days, the only damage to the cab was a flat tire - I guess I could take responsibility for that - given the heavy load.
I should have liked to have a break, 85 kg pushes pretty hard on the down hill.
All in all, the Nordic Cab made it possible to haul over 100 kg (together with my back pack) without too much strain.
Thanks again for the great service!
Best regards, Stein H Flaata

Egon and our Nordic Cab
|
| |
We finally got our new Nordic Cab. It didn't take long to put it together and go out for our first walk.
Egon (our dog), who is a three year old Berner Sennen, was so proud when he pulled the cab, and our daughter was happy as a clam to sit and be pulled. Now we're out everyday for a walk with our Nordic Cab. It's so much fun!
We get more than a few passers by asking about our unique vehicle, and that makes us even more proud.
HAPPY EASTER!
Kind regards Marianne Beckstrøm, a very proud Nordic Cab owner!

Nordic Cab All Season Combo
|
| |
|
Our daughter, Aurora, is almost five months old in the picture. Since she's too little to sit upright, we pad the seat with blankets and pillows to make the cab cozy for her. She's all bundled up in a sheep skin with the safety belt done over top. We are, of course, careful not to go too fast or over rough terrain with her but we've found some beautiful trails we can take her out on.
During the first two outings here in Tromsø we must have run into 20 or 30 curious people who asked about this unusual pulk.

Mathis must work for his food
|
| |
|
(Nordic Cab note - in summer these customers live on an island where no cars are allowed.)
Hi! Now Easter is over for the year, and now it looks like summer is here. But maybe we're just being fooled???? Hope all is well with you, we are doing fine.
I'm sending some photos we took (Saturday, 04.14.07) of Mathis in front of the Nordic Dog Cab. We were told to go gently at first, so he wouldn't be scared of the cab, but he didn't seem the least bit scared.
We put the harness on, and he stood for a while like that (he is used to a life vest after all.) The pictures were taken when he first had the harness on, so his tail is down a little. I'm sure it was a bit scary for him at first, but he's used to us with the wheel barrow, so the noise wasn't anything unusual.
Så Harald says: Let's try going to the shops. A little treat in the pocket was all we needed to tempt Mathis along. He wasn't in the least afraid - he didn't look behind him once! He marched steady onward with his tail straight up (that's when I should've had the camera).
We bought a few things at the grocery store and then had to go down to the recycling station, so there was more than one outing that day.
Today we had a few more bags of garbage from the neighbors, so the cab was a bit heavier. It was little harder to get him started, but with the treat in the pocket, Mathis followed along and almost ran once we'd unloaded the cab. Then I had to hold tight onto the leash to keep him from going too fast! (He knows where he lives!)
We are looking forward to using the Nordic Cab all summer. Now we don't have to use the wheel barrow for shopping trips any longer. (We do eat rather a lot during summer vacation:) But I think Mathis is rather proud of being the bread winner too!

Thanks for a great trailer. Our dog just loves pulling the Nordic Cab. My 8 month old daughter falls asleep after 5 minutes in the cab. Seems she loves it.

Nordic Cab in Finnmark - North Norway
|
| |
Hi!
We've now had a chance to test out our new pulk and thought we'd write you a note with some pictures we took last week. We took our new pulk out hunting in Finnmark.
We are generally very pleased with the Nordic Cab - it works well both in and out of the tracks. We've used it both for exercise and for bird hunting.
Our daughter is well protected from the elements in her cozy little "tent". We actually measured the temperature inside and outside the Nordic Cab and found it was several degrees warmer inside - an absolute bonus when you live in a place like Finnmark. We feel confident our child is warm enough, even on the colder days, so we get out of the house more often.
It's also a plus that the cab rests above the snow, so there's no direct contact with the cold ground as with a regular pulk. When you go off-track, out in loose snow, with uneven terrain, the skis move independently, so there's not so much jarring motion for the child.
