Maintaining your Nordic Cab bike trailer

To ensure your Nordic Cab stays in optimal condition for years to come, it will need regular maintenance.

Here are some handy tips on how to maintain your bike trailer.

Moving parts

All moving parts should be oiled, preferably with bike lubricant. Make sure the area is clean before you apply this.

Wheels, wheelbearings, removable bolts and the bike attachement also needs to be greased regularly. This is especially important in spring and autum when the roads are wet.

Storing your bike trailer

We recommend you store your bike trailer in a dry place out of direct sunlight. If  it is stored outdoors and exposed to sunlight, over time the cover colour will fade a little and may get mouldy. It is also recommended that the wheels / skis are removed when the bike trailer is not in use over longer periods, and that you lubricate the moving parts and bolts.

Following these simple recommendations will ensure your bike trailer is in prime condition for years to come.

Bike attachement / tow bar

At Nordic Cab we are committed to ensuring a safe environment for you and your kids.

Before each journey, make sure you check the bike tow bar and attachment to the trailer, particularly where the holes are located. Ensure the rubber attachment is intact with no cracks or damage. Also check that the tow bar is not bent or damaged.

And last but not least! Remember to always attache the safety wire every time you go for a ride.

How to tighten the wheelbolts on your bike trailer

Check and tighten the wheelbolts regularly, if it needs tightening it feels as if the wheel is vibrating slightly.
